Bankruptcy Pricing

FLAT FEE PRICING

Most consumer clients qualify for a flat fee rate that includes all costs and legal fees associated with chapter 7 and chapter 13. You should be careful of getting lured into a discount shop simply because they are the cheapest folks in town. You will probably get hit with hidden costs and shaky representation.

Chapter 7: $1,595.

Included:
1. In person contact with a team of lawyers and paralegals with serious experience getting folks out of debt. We answer your calls and emails. We are always available by appointment to discuss your case at the office or over the phone.
2. All fees and costs associated with filing a chapter 7. The flat fee includes the filing fee ($335) a tri-merge credit report ($35) and the two credit counseling courses ($50).
3. Legal representation preparing your schedules and petition, interacting with the chapter 7 trustee, representation at the 341 meeting of creditors and completion of your case.
4. A full electronic copy of your file upon completion.
Not included:
1. Appraisals for real property or valuable personal property.
2. Defending adversary proceedings or abuse actions filed the United States Trustee. (These are rare and we should have a good sense before we file your case whether actions against you in bankruptcy court are likely.)

Chapter 13: $1,000 up front; remaining fee in Plan

Chapter 13 is what we do best and if you want to keep a home in default, treat tax debt or simply make too much money to qualify for chapter 7 our office can put together plan of reorganization that will meet your goals. We put our money where our mouth is and receive most of the total legal fee through your chapter 13 plan. In chapter 13 you will be making a monthly plan payment and we want you to succeed.
Included:
1. Like chapter 7, in person contact with a team of lawyers and paralegals with tremendous experience getting folks out of debt. We will work with you to develop a mutual bankruptcy purpose and guide you through the entire reorganization.
2. All fees and costs associated with filing a chapter 13. The initial retainer includes the filing fee ($310) a tri-merge credit report ($35) and the two credit counseling courses ($50).
3. Legal representation preparing your schedules and petition, interacting with the chapter 13 trustee, representation at the 341 meeting of creditors and completion of your case.
Not included:
1. Appraisals for real property or valuable personal property.
2. Defending adversary proceedings.

Complex individual bankruptcy cases
Not every case will qualify for flat fee pricing. Approximately 10% of our clients pay a retainer and a subsequent hourly fee. Examples of clients that would not be appropriate for flat fee agreements include individuals with complex small businesses, over $100,000 of tax debt, or $1 million of total debt.  We routinely handle some of the most complex individual bankruptcy cases in Maryland.
